Ever heard of a rooster pen pal for kids? No? Well now you have! I use the excitement of receiving mail to encourage literacy, creativity, and friendship with kids ages 3-8. Here's how it works:
1) I send two postcards each month to my pals - on the 1st and on the 16th of the month.
2) Each card tells a story and prompts my pals for a reply. Sending a reply is super easy because I provide a pre-stamped, pre-addressed reply postcard each time I write.
3) My pals draw a picture on the front of the postcard and write a note on the back. Then, they just drop the card in the mail to send it back.
Here's what parents have to say about my Pen Pal Unit:
"Ben the Rooster is a sure winner in our home. As Lily declared, 'Ben’s one of my best friends forever and I just love him!' Anything that helps inspire the love of reading gets my vote of approval!" - Lexie Loo, Lily, Liam & Dylan Too
"After giving it a try and seeing them send letters back in forth with Ben, it has quickly become one of our new favorite activities!" - The Magnolia Mamas
"It's so nice to have something delivered to your house that is already prepped and ready for you to do a learning activity with your child. Easy peasy :)" - Polka-Dotty Place
I see that you've been convinced. Great! I'm excited to get a new pen pal!
